Leaving Quest Air
We had to leave Quest Air today to head down to the Ridge to get ready for the First Annual Rob Kells Memorial meet. We were sorry to leave because we had such a great experience at Quest Air this year staying there for six weeks.
Quest Air is pretty much self organizing. It's there and some people do some things and some people do other things. There is no king. It is anarchy, but in a good sense.
Sure there are plenty of issues with no one in charge, like economic viability, but I did notice that everyone seemed to be happy. Maybe that isn't a long term successful strategy, but for now it sure seems to work. I wonder what the next steps will turn out to be.
The Quest Air towing and tandem business is operating and providing income to those involved. The trailer park is operating. There is electricity, water, and fast internet access. Indoor and outdoor showers and bathrooms.
There are huge grass runways, plenty of Dragonflies and qualified tug pilots. There are carts (and I with help from Campbell and Gregg fixed up four more while I was there).
There are rooms, and a kitchen, as well as ping pong, and other games.
I could think of some improvements, but I don't know exactly how to make them and still have that level of happiness. I lived in a collective house for thirty two years, so I know unhappiness.
