A few comments on the pitch police
Non justice and non police officials at the DHV (and CIVL) are pretending that they are the police without a real understanding of the deep philosophical basis of justice and fair play. They seem to think that it is easy to figure out who are the criminals and they have no trouble branding those as criminal. This is true whether they are measuring height limitations/restrictions or sprog angles. We saw this in previous German Opens and at the Europeans last year.
There are many technical difficulties with their measurements in both cases, but that doesn't seem to make them reflect on the seriousness of the situation. They insist that they are accurate to within 0.1 degrees. But when measured against real life (as seen above), things somehow are no longer consistent.
Do we want our national and international organizations engaging in behaviors which they are not trained or educated for? Do we want them enforcing rules that they clearly do not fully understand? Doesn't this just lead to more conflicts between pilots and their associations?
I would love to see an explanation from the DHV pitch police regarding Corinna's case.
