The chairman of the selection committee has resigned, the replacement chairman has been replaced, there are five new members to our panel including me. There is now a new constitution governing the way the panel behaves and this is still a work in progress. I am now the panel secretary and the main contact to enter the UK Nationals at Ager (John Aldridge will have no further direct involvement in the panel or the running of UK competitions).

There was already a successful competition in Wales with our new meet head, and we have another new meet head and a new scorer for the meeting in Ager. I think it is sure the selection process will be quite different for the future, but no matter how unjust it seemed, the team selected for 2009 remains. We will see how they perform.
