Florida cu's

Heres a developing Florida thunderhead which I caught on my iPhone Sunday afternoon here in Palm Beach County, Florida. You can really get a feel for how dramatic the thermal development (or over-development) is by looking at the top of the photo. The base was low, but the tops were probably around 30,000 feet.
As all Floridians know, these amazing Boomers are typical in the summertime and appear nearly every afternoon around 3:00 oclock. But, this one was particularly awe inspiring with dramatic backlighting provided from the Sun.
I took this picture while it was still sunny in my front yard and just as the gust front was starting to kick up. The storm hit us about a half hour later and it hit hard. We lost power commencing about an hour after the photo was taken and it did not return for about three hours.
