The 250 has the squelch control on the top like the VX-150, which you would probably like to have in flight. It would be too hard to change the squelch in flight on the 270. On the other hand the 270 puts the jack for the mic/speaker on the top of the radio where it will meet with less sideways forces than the side mount on the 250. The 250 screen should be easier to see when adjusting the radio on the ground.
