How about two USHPA Competition Committees?

Why are we arguing over scarce resources when we in fact don't have scare resources? Nothing but a false monopoly. Why don't we just create another USHPA competition committee that deals with the events and other types of competitions (like the King Mountain meet, the Chelan Cross Country Classic, the Team Challenge, as well as spot landing, etc.), but excludes NTSS ranked and GAP scored meets?

Recently a hundred or so of us (many NTSS competition pilots) have signed a petition to ask for the resignation of the USHPA Competition Committee Chairman and to stop the implementation of the Competition Workgroup Proposal until a thorough review takes place. How about if the current Competition Committee Chairman takes over this new Competition Committee instead and that the CWG proposal get revised to disassociate itself from the NTSS and GAP scored competitions? Wouldn't that be even a better idea?

How about one committee, the NTSS Competition Committee (which takes over the CC SOPs (in general) and the USHPA Competition Rulebook - which gets changed to the USHPA NTSS Competition Rulebook) and another committee, the USHPA Competition Committee? Two separate and equal competition committees with two different focuses?

How about the NTSS CC has two co-chairman. One a competition hang glider pilot and the other a competition paraglider pilot, both USHPA members? (Defined as having attended a USHPA or CIVL NTSS type sanctioned competition within the last year.) How about the competition pilots in each sport elect their co-chairman of the NTSS competition committee (each in their own sport) for two year terms? (Competition pilots being defined as USHPA member pilots who have entered USHPA or CIVL sanctioned NTSS type competitions within the last year.)

How about these co-chairman choose a fixed number of active competition pilots as the members of the NTSS competition committee? How about, since competition pilots really have no interest in going to USHPA BOD meetings, that the NTSS CC hold its meetings on-line and then one or the other of the co-chairman present the results of the committee resolutions and votes to the BOD each BOD meeting, for their approval?

How about the USHPA Competition Committee take on the task of growing the sports through the promotion of the types of competition that most appeal to pilots new to competition, or otherwise not wanting to fly in GAP scored meets? Be it cross country, or spot landing, or duration, or aero, or speed gliding, or whatever?

That way we don't have to stuff the King Mountain meet into the NTSS system. We avoid a whole argument about that.

Doesn't this just make too much sense? Can't we just quit fighting over one bone and each enjoy our own bone?
