Essentially NTSS-based meets in the US are put on by volunteer organizers who are not being rewarded much for their efforts. Putting obstacles in their way is not helping. There is an adversarial relationship between the USHPA Competition Committee and the meet organizers, which is not helping. I'm hoping to reduce that.

Also the associated the Competition Committee Standard Operating Procedures need to be changed to reflect the proposed changes in the Competition Rulebook. So I have proposed the following changes for agenda item #3:

The substantial change is to SOP3-2. It states  that NTSS Competition Committee Chairman will be chosen by a vote of the NTSS ranked competition pilots, and that there shall be two co-chairs, one for paragliding and one for hang gliding.

The USHPA Sanction Application

I created an on-line form of the USHPA Sanction Application to allow meet organizers to apply on line for sanctioning. This is an example that could be replicated (in about half a day's time) for the rest of the Sanction Application Package (other than on the Sanction Agreement where signatures are needed). The USHPA headquarters would need to implement this.

I have reduced the fees and bonds required by a factor of ten, in order to reduce an obstacle to hang gliding meet organizers. I know for certain that this was an issue in the late application for meets in 2009. The meet organizers just didn't want to pay those high fees so far in advance. This made it more difficult for pilots looking to schedule their competitions.
