Don't let me hear from you
As Mike Haley, the USHPA Competition Committee Chairman, will not let me share his email to me with you.
I have been emailing the articles on proposed agenda items (see above for number 4) to Mike directly, so he doesn't have to come to the Oz Report to read them. I have also sent them to all the USHPA Competition Committee members (BCC:).
Mike apparently doesn't appreciate the fact that I have been so kind as to inform him directly of my desires for a number items to be placed on the agenda for his upcoming meeting and on Friday he informed me that it is not the place of USHPA members to request that items be placed on the Competition Committee's agenda. That this honor is to be reserved for the regional directors, and if one of my regional directors finds that my concerns rise to a level that should be of interest to the Competition Committee then it would be up to the regional director to suggest that that item be addressed on the agenda of the committee. In other words, STFU.
I have respectfully asked Mike if he can point me to a section in the USHPA's manual of Standard Operating Procedures (found here) which restricts the members to this servile role in the affairs of our organization. I have yet to hear back from him on this matter.
In the meantime, I ask USHPA Competition Committee members to ask Mike to add my items to the Competition Committee agenda. If something doesn't get on the agenda, then it never gets discussed at the USHPA BOD, and the committee chairmen have total control of the agendas.
