1) Divide the Competition Rulebook into three documents that each address a separate audience so that it is easier for those audiences to know the rules to follow. Especially, make it easier for competition pilots to know the rules that they are supposed to fly by.

2) Insure that all competitions used for NTSS ranking use GAP scoring, so that we have a consistent way of testing pilots who will represent the US at the Worlds, where GAP is used.

3) Reduce the requirements placed on meet organizers to encourage our existing organizers to continue and for more to join them, so that we can have a healthy NTSS competition scene.

4) Focus the new USHPA Competition Rulebook on NTSS competitions eliminating provisions that focused on non NTSS purposes, in order to let the NTSS choose the best team to fly in the Worlds.

5) Either reject the Competition Workgroup proposals, or adopt them in a form compatible with the continuation of the NTSS-based competitions outlined in the first four steps above. Create a separate competition committee to implement the proposals and run a non NTSS-based competition system. The point here is to accomplish the goals of the Competition Workgroup without making deleterious changes to the NTSS.

6) Reconstitute the Competition Committee to have it composed of competition pilots and have two co-chairmen, a competition hang glider pilot and a competition paraglider pilot. Have the competition pilots vote for their respective chairman. The point here is, of course, to infuse the NTSS competition committee with expertise and make it responsive to the competition pilots, the audience actually affected by its decisions.

7) Set the meet validity of the 2009 King Mountain co-Nationals at 7% as per the 2006 USHPA Competition Rulebook.

If all the above is just too much to accomplish, I would at least like to see the provisions that I have made to reduce the burdens on the meet organizers passed.
