Didn't get that recent email from Lisa Tate?
Why didn't Linda Salamone, Glen Volk, and Davis Straub (at least)
not get the recent email from Lisa Tate regarding the competition program, when
we had been receiving flying related emails from the USHPA all along?
Well, because somebody at the USHPA screwed up. Glen Volk writes to the new
Information Services Director at the USHPA, Robin Jones:
The text immediately below says that by providing my email address
(which I had done) I agree that the USHPA will contact me regarding membership
and flying related issues. It goes on to say that by checking additional boxes I
can choose to opt in for additional things. In fact, the preceding sentence
makes it clear that I should have received the e-mail without checking any of
the boxes. And none of those boxes come close to relating to the subject matter
at hand.
I point this out not to bust your chops over it, but to point out a legitimate
problem in the efforts by the USHPA to get this material out to the entire
membership. I am going to guess that many members did not receive it even though
they may well have provided their email address as I did in their profiles. I
know several comp pilots did not receive it and I'd be hard pressed to believe
that none of them provided an email address in their profile.
Thanks for responding so promptly. I look forward to answering the questions
posed and hope that the BOD will see fit to share the results with the general
membership.

Robin, who has been on the job nine days, gracefully took full
responsibility this morning (a whole new feature from the USHPA).
Maybe the USHPA can't get Lisa's email out the door, but the Oz Report can send
out the questions she asked at least (see the last issue).
