Why sic your lawyer on a member of your association?
If you've got a problem with a member of your association,
wouldn't you first give them a call (or write them an email) and see if it could
be worked out amicably? I mean do you reach for your pistol at the first sign of
trouble?
I've had a great time interacting with Tim Herr today, but it is a little
unnerving receiving a Cease and Desist letter out of the blue. Not only
was it based on an erroneous supposition (that I had stripped all the copyright
information out of the document) but then Tim wanted me to snitch on the BOD
members who had sent me the document to begin with.
Then he goes off on a totally other tangent trying to restrict linking on the
web. Well, good luck with that.
I mean, come on. The same document is on-line at the USHPA web site, just with
additional irrelevant materials. What is the big deal? Is someone over reacting
here? Getting emotional? Wanting to grab the biggest club that they could find?
I hope that cooler heads can prevail.
I would like to see exactly what harm I have been doing to the USHPA by linking
to a copy of their own document.
