Flying Turkey Festival
From Lauren Tjaden:
And you thought turkeys couldnt fly.
Ample evidence to the contrary will be in the sky above Quest Air Hang Gliding
in Groveland, Florida on Sat., Nov. 21, 2009 during the first annual Flying
Turkey Festival.
The bird-brained festival will feature:
- Discounted Tandem Discovery Flights for your friends or family
who want to see what your air-addiction is all about.
- Informal Flying Contests. Do you have what it takes to climb
to the top of the thermal? Duration contests, small XC tasks and spot
landing contests will be offered depending on the weather and pilots
wishes.
- Free food. Tantalize your taste buds with complimentary
hotdogs and chips.
- Prizes. Besides having a good time, you could win a fabulous
T-shirt, vintage video -- or even a bumper sticker!
- Raffle. If youre feeling lucky, youll want to take a chance
on one of our November novelties.
- Drop the drumstick. This contest will reward the most
accurately aimed appendage -- thrown from your hang glider, of course.
- Pizza and Poker Party. During this evening event you can feed
your face; crack a cold one; swap and embellish stories about the days
soaring.
Cant make it for The Flying Turkey Festival? Dont get your sail
in a twist. Well be hosting a series of informal fly-ins the third Saturday of
every month from Oct 2009 - March 2010, providing the perfect excuse for pilots
to escape to the Sunshine State this winter. For more information call
