Bringing in new competition pilots
I have floated a proposal to the meet organizers that they do a promotion
encouraging pilots to bring pilots new to competition with them. Maybe act as a
buddy for them helping them out with the ropes. Pilots can bring pilots new to competition
with them and get some reduced fee. The idea here is that a pilot who attended a
USHPA sanctioned competition in 2009 brings a pilot totally new to competition,
or brings a pilot who hasn't flown in competition in the three years before, or
brings a pilot to fly in Sport Class. If they do that, and we mean really do
that, actually bring someone who wouldn't have come anyway, and are not just
looking for a deal, they get the deal. Is this a good idea? Will it bring new pilots into competition? Surveys indicate that time and money are the biggest constraint on pilots when
it comes to attending competitions. Tell me what you think on the Oz Report forum.
