The Region Six pilots are constantly working to preserve and improve
local flying sites. The latest project is a new launch on Buffalo Mountain. This
new launch location is being made possible because three long time pilots have
recently acquired the plots that are being excavated.
When this project is complete, this site will yield three excellent launch
locations in close proximity, along with the capacity to land on top. Including
a location for a stationary tow system. The site is located on top of Buffalo
Mountain in southeast OK near the small town of Talihina.
The requirements for pilots to use this location are USHPA membership, along
with Buffalo Mountain Flyers Membership which is currently $60.00 per year. The
BMF registration form is located here.
In return for joining BMF you have the privilege of three other great sites located
in southeast Ok. Currently two property owners and BMF have committed an even
split of $3,600.00 for six days of dozer operation and, I am certain we have at
least six more days to go.
