The Dragonflies as paper weights
Getting an Amended Airworthiness and Operating Limitation
Certificate.
http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19134
Many of the Dragonflies were sold to Private Pilots who had never
heard of an expiring Airworthiness Certificate. On the written and Oral test
given to private pilot candidates the FAA asks, when Airworthiness expire and
the correct answer is, they dont. The FAA did not notify these owners before the deadline. Now their planes are no
longer flyable, paper wise. This will close some small business and flight
parks. I have been in contact with the FAA and the only recourse we have left is
for our Congressmen to convince the FAA to allow these aircraft to apply for an
amended Airworthiness Certificate and new Operating Limitations that allow
towing for hire but not primary student training.
