The 2010 Spring USHPA BOD meeting, early roundup
From the Bylaws changes passed by the Bylaws Committee: A Director who has been removed by the members of his or her region cannot be
nominated for election or serve as a Director for a minimum of two (2) years
following the date of removal. This means if Bob K. is recalled he can't serve even if he is re-elected for two
years. Let's hope that the BOD General Session wises up and doesn't pass this. There apparently will be a friendly amendment to the Bylaws report so that the
changes won't be implemented until May 1st. Ray Leonard was stripped of his Instructor Administrator position, and the
instructor certifications that he "gave" out are being suspended. National Team Code of Conduct proposal delayed. (Maybe they will send out any
proposal on this issue to potential team members before the next BOD meeting.) All the competition proposals passed with relatively minor amendments. Midwest and King Mountain (as an open distance not NTSS) meets sanctioned.
Sanctioning for Texas Single Surface Shootout delayed. Bob K. gets the USHPA to back his request for increasing hang gliding and
paragliding representation on the Soaring Council.
