Flarm and EW communication DLLs are now able to declare flights to
flash cards. In order to do so, select path to your SD Card (logical drive) and
"FILE" as parameter. Proceed with "Uploading" the flight declaration as
normally, then put your flash card into your Flarm (or EW Micro) and reset the
device.
The other significant feature is that you are now able to set the QNH for a
given day which is particularly useful in scoring competitions. Flight recorders
are supposed to record pressure altitudes based on 1013.25hPa datum. This is
however not a requirement in the calibration process. The standard even does not
give any tolerance for acceptable altitude inaccuracy at any given height. For
this reason it is important that QNH for any given day is entered as a property
of a given contest day. This will reset all competing flight recorders to a
common flight level altitude. Please note that it is important that this figure
is displayed on the task sheets so pilots can adapt their flight computers
accordingly.
