Looking for early flights in the Himalayas

I'm researching free flight in the Himalayas in the 1970s and
early 1980s. Basically, was there any? And what was it?
I have 1984 as the first official hang gliding event in Bir / Billing, Himachal
Pradesh, with Judy Leden, Larry Tudor, Chris Bulger and Steve Moyes et al.
Then in 1986 I know about Larry Tudor and Steve McKinney (US) trying to fly from
Everest. (Steve McKinny had made a flight from about 600 ft up the west ridge
so the film crew could have something to appease the sponsors. He also made a
very spectacular out of control fight to a wicked crash on the glacial moraine
at base camp.)
By 1988 Jean Marc Boivin (FR) had flown from the summit of Everest by
paraglider.
But I have nothing before 1984. Do any hang glider pilots know of early hang
gliding exploration in the Himalaya pre-1984 (26 years ago, oh my).
