The National Climatic Data Center has released its summary
of global climate conditions so far this year and finds that the
month of May, as well as the period from January through May, were the warmest
since thorough record keeping began in 1880.

We're happy that:

A transition to ENSO-neutral conditions is expected by June 2010,
which will continue into the Northern Hemisphere summer 2010. El Niño weakened
during April 2010 as positive surface temperature (SST) anomalies decreased
across the equatorial Pacific Ocean.
