A 43-year-old Victoria paragliding instructor is in serious
condition in a Spokane hospital after a paragliding mishap Sunday afternoon in
Washington state.

Claudio Alberto Mota was completing in the U.S. Paragliding Nationals event in
Chelan when, at 4:40 p.m., turbulence caused his parasail to bundle up 30 metres
from the ground, said a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
