Pilots helping children wherever we fly, Big Spring version
The pilots who came to Big Spring for the US Nationals donated
$1,000 using the
Cloudbase
Foundation as a 501c:3 non-profit corporation as a funnel to local charities
in Big Spring that help out the children. We actually had a group of children
from the Howard Cottage come and watch the competition on one of the days. They
drew pictures of hang gliders after getting back to the day care center. Belinda wrote the press release highlighting the donation and the Big Spring
Herald article on the donation can be found
here. More pictures
here. A special thanks to Russell and Lori (two thirds of our towing crew) who put in
$300. The board of the Cloudbase Foundation has committed itself to raise $7,000 to
support children in Big Spring. If you appreciate all that Big Spring has done
for hang gliding competition over the last ten years ($20,000 in services last
year), you might think about contributing to this effort. See
here.
