On the second of August I was relieved of my responsibilities as
the contracted editor of the HGFA newsletter. Up to that point I had been
sending out a newsletter every two weeks as per my arrangement with Raef McKay
and the HGFA.

The new editor of the HGFA newsletter then took my yet to be published August
1st issue (I had sent in a draft), edited it, put it in a new format, and sent
it out. They stated at the time:

Lastly, the Committee has decided to take over production and
distribution of the ‘Airwaves’ e-newsletter. We really appreciate the work you
have done for us, Davis, with this newsletter over the better part of the last
year or so. Your contribution is valued. However, the Committee will be using
in-house resources to create and send out ‘Airwaves’ after the current issue has
been delivered to members.

Apparently that is the last issue of the Airwaves newsletter that
has been sent to the membership, according to my sources in Australia. Since I
also solicited payments from sponsors of the newsletter promising that their ad
would show up every two weeks in the Airwaves newsletter, I'm a bit chagrined to
see this state of affairs.
