Canoa Open 2010 Tony Gittes Cup
Canoa racing days are getting close!!
The comp starts on Saturday October 30th with free flying/ testing / training
day. Pilots meeting on Saturday 30th at 11am at Wonderland Hotel.
We will have three valid days to race: Sunday 31st, Monday 1st and Tuesday
November 2nd.
Departure is on November 3rd.
The race is FAI sanctioned.
There will be two categories:
- Open
- Sporting: (king posted and single surface with handicap)
GPS varios mandatory!
The program includes:
Party for pilots and friends / donation night for local schools and nursery /
Memorial night for Tony Gittes, hang glding pioneer in Ecuador who just recently
lost a fight against cancer.
Entry fee is U$ 40.00 dollars ($5 go to donation night) any additional donations
are welcome (contact me or Cloud Base Foundation to discuss) Accommodations and
all events will be at the Wonderland Hotel Canoa. (other Hotels are getting
booked very fast now) Entry fee includes commemorative artist designed T shirt
and cup. Party entrance Take off fees.
Cost per person is: 1 guest per room: $80 2 guests per room $ 40 each 3-4 guests
per room $ 30 each Hotel can accommodate up to 4 but two need to share queen
size bed. Major credit cards accepted / payment will be upon arrival at Canoa.
Pilots not in competition will not be normally allowed to fly during peak racing
hours. (requests will be analyzed by Director)
We need to get registration info no later than October 17th end of day. Limit is
for 45 competing pilots (both categories!). (currently we have 20 pre-registered
pilots from Colombia, Venezuela, USA and Ecuador).
