TRURO A male hang glider rider who plunged from the sky during
an outing Saturday afternoon was flown to a Boston hospital for treatment of
injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening, the police said. At 1:13 p.m., the Truro police received a call that a hang glider had crash
landed on the beach behind the Seascape Motor Inn, according to a police
dispatcher. The areas cliffs are a popular place for hang glider enthusiasts,
she added.

A Connecticut pilot on a borrowed Talon was making a turn onto his
final approach to a beach landing. The winds were 25+ with gusts to 35+. He did
not get his wings level in time, caught a wing tip in the sand and cart wheeled
in.
