Those with long memories will remember I have been fighting for
the great Ubley flying site, near Bristol, UK. It has been a long fight and I
have uncovered a real scandal. On several estates public money has been claimed
and public access conditions applied. The estates are then made largely private.
Expensive lawyers then claim that words such as 'creating access' for the public
is not the same as 'providing access'. 'O trees are fully mature' is argued as
after 50 years!! Meanwhile various 'sporting' activities are able to go on,
funded by the taxpayer, and the public are excluded. The Forestry Commission who
provided the money are finally taking note, and next its the Charity Commission.
They have been TOTALLY useless in the past but with my MP's total support maybe
I can change things this time.

Ubley is a fantastic NE site - great for either XC flights or just
soaring the lovely scenic ridge. It's well worth a visit and I've had some
really excellent flying down there in the past. I can't believe what these
people do with our money, then deny access rights - please support Ken's
campaign.

I commend you to support this- the closure of this once important
site is indeed a scandal and Ken has been working on this for a long time in the
face of stonewall opposition from the intransigent and thoroughly unpleasant
representatives of this charity.
