Conrad Lotten (Newcastle resident and pilot) told me that the
local pilots with tree climbing gear got the guy up before the rescue folks
could get to him.

An inexperienced Armidale plot (obviously embarrassed) blew his landing in a
difficult field to land in. I made twenty attempts before I finally put it down
there at the monument. I was told that he didn't.

The wind pressed the glider to the cliff side (a nice feature of this place). It
was lowered down later.
