In the most recent Oz Report you have a short snippet on the 2011
NZ Hang Gliding Nationals. Im not sure what Teddy was flying in, however, it
wasnt the NZ Hang Gliding Nationals as these were held in Wanaka just last
week.
The competition went from the 22nd to the 29th January and four successful
flying days were held. Over thirty competitors entered the comp. Highlights of
the competition included flying up the Lindis Valley with goal at Omarama and a
flight up to the neck between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea (see photo) with goal
in Wanaka.
Cloudbase was up to 8400 feet during the competition with excellent climbs of
over 1000 ft/min a regular occurrence.
