Denial of amendment to exemption 4144 – this was the request to
the FAA to allow individuals with a sport pilot license to tow hang gliders. We
are planning to send a letter/email to all USHPA ATP’s and AT-rated hang glider
pilots regarding the FAA’s denial of our request for the amendment to exemption
4144 and also to remind them that all N-numbered aircraft need to be
re-registered with the FAA this year.

Is USHPA ATP rating still required to tow if the tow pilot has an FAA private
pilot certificate and is towing with a light sport aircraft (N-numbered).
General understanding is "no", but apparently there is some confusion about
this, especially in the USHPA office. Needs clarification.

Consider removing John Ryan as a HG Instructor Administrator and approving Rod
Mitchell as a HG IA.
