A big thank you to Mike Glennon who convinced me to come down to
Colombia to fly with a little help on the plane ticket by Icolpack. Mike put me
up at his house, put me in his truck with Raul Guerra and David Brito Filho,
supplied a driver, changed my US dollars to Colombian pesos at a favorable rate,
often translated for me, took me to "typical" restaurants, showed me where to
get breakfast, and Ensalda des Fruitas, got me a glider.

Thanks also to Daniel Velez Bravo, the Wills Wing dealer in Colombia, for
getting me the use of a glider, which I unfortunately abused, and for helping me
make it "right" with the owner, who was at the competition. Also thanks to the
glider's owner,  Conrado Muñoz, for the use of the Wills Wing T2 144, and
for his good humor about my abuse of it on launch. Yes, I did pay for the abuse
that the glider suffered as well as for rent of the glider.

Thanks to all the very friendly Colombian, Ecuadorian, and Brazilian pilots who
welcoming me to the competition. I had a great time (most of the time) and
really appreciated their good natures and support.

I have not come to Colombia before because the two major competitions are in
January (I'm in Australia) and August (I'm in Texas). It was great that the
January competition was in March this year, although the weather is not as nice
then.
