This launch by Daniel Velez was the best launch that I witnessed. It is on the
moderately sloped south side with a very slight wind coming in. Daniel is a
small, thin guy but he raises the glider higher on his upper arms (which raises
the base bar up higher off the ground than if the glider rested on his
shoulders) than any one else. He cocks the nose down a bit more just before he
takes the first step (I have slowed down the video starting just before he
launches). He takes a big step (which he can because the glider's wing is lifted high
above him, and the base tube is higher off the ground than normal). As he runs, he keeps his hands and arms in the same position and the
glider stays with the same nose angle. He runs a long ways with very long steps.
Stream the video in the highest resolution and use the pause button often to see
what is going on.
