Just two more pilots
So that all six pilots could count for the team scoring at the
Worlds
According to me CIVL Plenary sources, in order to allow all six
members of a national team to be counted when doing the team scoring (the top
three scores are used each day) at the 2011 Worlds, two additional teams had to
be asked if they had a sixth member that could come and fly at the Worlds. They
didn't have to have one. They just had to be asked.
But the (artificial) limit of 150 pilots had already been reached and the CIVL
President very much objected to allowing this to take place (slippery slopes,
and all). None-the-less there is a vote of all the CIVL Representatives on these
issues, and despite his objections the hang gliding committee and then the
general session allowed this to occur, so 152 pilots is the limit at the Worlds instead of 150.
The existing CIVL President was made the next CIVL President by default.
