"Students" going long

Last Tuesday, April 19, Mike Barber and I flew 125 miles from
Wallaby Ranch, up 301, to north of Stark, Florida. We landed next to active
military airspace to the delight of an elderly couple who owned the farm land.
The flight took 5 1/2 hours in light tail winds with long glides from cloud base
as high as 7300 feet. I was so beat, I practically begged Mikey to land when he got low pulling out
front. Aside from this being my personal best, I wonder what the longest
student-instructor flight has been? Sorry I missed you this year at Quest, but
we never got low enough during the week to consider bailing out to Quest. What a
week of flying in beautiful Florida air.
