Flying in the Ukraine
Elena Filippova.
Want to get more young people into hang gliding? Recruit lots of young women and
get them flying. (Make gliders that are properly sized for smaller pilots.)

Grinenko Cup. This is cross-country competition called "Cat's Swing".

I have been informed about an accident with an Ukrainian pilot -
Oleksii Dvernytskyi- during the Kobala Open comp in Slovenia. Oleksii broke four
or five vertebrae and damaged three quarters of his spinal chord. He needs an operation to
restore the membrane surrounding the spinal chord to stop the protective fluid
from leaking. He will be transferred to Kiev for that, because the insurance
company doesn't want to pay for it in Slovenia. It is not clear whether the
insurance is going to pay the current and/or future costs. His girlfriend, Elena Filippova, asked us whether it was possible to start to collect some money to
help out.
