Utah Parks wants to know if Lehi city would like to take over the
financial and operational responsibilities of the Utah Flight Park State
Recreational Area and city leaders are interested in looking at the proposal.

Councilwoman Kaye Collins said she thought the city could maintain the park more
efficiently for less.

"I think we do it better," she said and laughed.

Risk or liability was a concern of the council, and what acquiring the new park
entailed.

The park would need to be annexed into the city as part of the agreement and the
state would want to be legally assured that Lehi City would maintain the park as
a recreational area.

"We have one city to the north who likes to encroach into Lehi City," said
Councilman Mark Johnson. "It would be nice to prevent that."
