Come to the best place in the World for cross country racing,
Texas. This year the Texas Open and Single Surface Shootout has been moved to a
less windy time of the year and takes place just before the Big Spring
Championships. These two meets will be a great setup for competition pilots
looking for excellent racing conditions and a good time (and world class
barbeque) in the World's premier racing territory.

The Carter Memorial Airfield Luling is an excellent venue for towing and the
area around it is wide open for  task setting. After two years of the Texas
Single Surface Shootout, in 2012 the competition is opened up and ready for Open
and Sport Class competition. Pilots can bring their topless and king posted
gliders to fly in those classes.

The Single Surface Shootout is also the 2012 US National Single Surface
Championships. If you fly a single surface glider be sure to come and join in
the competition.
