2012 Forbes Flatlands - the latest update

Vicki Cain <<moyes>> writes:
It will be mandatory to fly with a radio, either UHF or 2 meter, so you can
communicate with your driver. The organisation will contact your driver via SMS
and your driver will need to be able to relay any changes in weather or calls
for stopped tasks. Your driver needs to have a NextG (Telstra) Australian cell
phone as well as the appropriate radio to contact you.
We will have a dispensation from CASA for the requirement to fly with a VHF AM
(aircraft frequency) radio at the Forbes Airport, so there is no need to fly
with one or to bring one with you. As well, the Forbes airport will be closed to
general aviation and commercial traffic each flying day between 11 am and 3 pm,
except for hang gliders and their tugs.
We will not be flying into or in any CTAF airspace (other than Forbes), so again
a VHF AM (aircraft frequency) radio will not be necessary.
Change of headquarters: The headquarters will now be at the Forbes Sports and
Recreation Club located at 175 Lachlan Street, Forbes.
