Forbes Flatlands - tug pilots pass certification
On Tuesday, January 3rd, the RAA (see links below to Recreational
Aviation Australia) certified all the Bailey-Moyes Dragonfly pilots here to tow
hang gliders at Forbes at the pre-Worlds, during a certification and
demonstration session. The tug pilots were already certified to do tow hang
gliders by the HGFA (Hang Gliding Federation of Australia), which has the equal
responsibility and authority under CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority,
similar to the FAA in the US) regulations to certify tug pilots to do so, but it
was thought best to accommodate the requests of the RAA to also allow them to
perform their separate certification. http://dev.raa.asn.au/
