Premiums for Oz Report subscriptions?
I was listening on and off to the KCRW radio pledge week two weeks
ago. It was spectacularly successful (the most money raised ever). As
you no doubt know the Oz Report does fund raising once a year in March pretty
much using the public radio model (begging). (BTW, the New York Times has recently adopted
major features of this funding model, relying on its most committed readers to
support the newspaper.)
KCRW provides great premiums (gifts) for pledges. Actually the big premium this
year was having those who pledged making their premium a donation to the local
food bank (40,000 meals were purchased this way).
I'm thinking of passing out a bunch of premiums to Oz Report subscribers at the
end of the fund drive at the end of March. All 2012 subscribers (http://ozreport.com/supporters.php)
as of the end of March would be eligible to receive one of the premiums. I'll
just randomly select as many subscribers as I have premiums and ask in drawn
order which of the premiums on offer do they want.
I'm wondering right now if there are Oz Report supporters that want to offer
premiums to help support the March fund drive. What I offer in return is to
provide a level of advertising (http://ozreport.com/advertise.php)
appropriate to the value of the premium. Also, of course, published
acknowledgement of your contribution throughout the fund drive in March,
building good will in our community.
Right now I've got a new IQ Sonic audio vario from Steve Kroop at
Flytec USA:

a Flytec Windwatch (I've got a spare, so I'm giving this
nearly new one away),

three new Miniglider keychain pilots,
three new Oz Report mugs,
three new Oz Report mouse pads,
two new Oz Report antennas,
two new Oz Report pro-tow releases with bridles,
and a new set of three Oz Report double length two inch wide quick release
straps:
In addition, a quadrotor from Cliff Whitney at
Atlanta Hobby:

I'll be adding additional premiums as well as seeing what others want to
contribute
$100 to Feeding America
So does this make any sense? Does anyone want to add to the list of premiums?
Will this be a nice thing to do for Oz Report readers? Kind of pay them back for
all their support?
