Aspres is not flyable in a north wind, neither is Serres by south wind, but they
are 8km away each other.

Class 1 and Class 5 pilots have to provide a dolly if they don't want to foot
launch

Here some claimed flights in 2011, not very big distances due to the weather
(thunderstorms in May and June, windy in July), but it was flyable thanks to the
weather boundary between the Northern and southern Alps. The northern Alps were
just not flyable in July. It was a record cold and rainy July month there.
Flying near that boundary (Col de Lus la Croix Haute, Pic de Bure, Oisan) almost
every day, we flew we could observe the low cloud cover to the north. The
southern French Alps is the most reliable area regarding weather and cross
country.

Please note that only experienced pilots are welcome. Last year an inexperienced
Swift pilot crashed in the trees on short final in Serres. This resulted
immediately in some restriction for us.

Serres is not an easy airfield regarding the wind and turbulences, but it's a
marvelous place to start early cross countries.
