Our web hosting service ( http://pair.com ) charges us for a dedicate server. It was the cheapest one
we could get when we first moved from a shared server five years ago (after all
our complex PHP code kept crashing the shared server). It cost us $150/month. We
get a 8% discount on that by paying for a year at a time. It was a pathetic
little server, not even offered any more.

We are moving to the virtual private server at $180/month (although slower than
we had hoped). You'll find it here:

the Oz Report out from this web server using the Mailman program. And, of
course, we have the web pages served there.

The new server will provide:

6GB of RAM

80GB Disk Space

800GB/month Transfer

All pair Networks' operations and services are carbon neutral

Of course, Scare has a real job, but provides his services without knowing how
much he'll get paid. He gets half of the proceeds of this fund raising. He's
checking through the new server right now to make sure that it is working.
Hopefully we'll switch to it by the end of the weekend. It depends on how well
his PHP code works with the new operating system.

I look to this fund raising to pay the cost of the server and a little bit (but
not much) more and pay for a year of Scare maintaining the web site (there are
little bugs and hiccups now and then) as well as redoing it on the new server.
So we don't make any real money off this service, and just go a bit above break
even.

We have a boat load of premiums to encourage you to support Scare and I as we
keep the Oz Report delivering the latest hang gliding news. See all the premiums

premiums, it would be great if subscribers went a little bit beyond the minimum
$20 donation/subscription, as many of you have, and we are very grateful for

At the end of March I'll set up a random number generator to choose who get the
premiums from the list of 2012 Oz Report subscribers. There will be an order to
that list and those subscribers chosen will get to send in an ordered list of
their preferred premiums and they will be awarded based on the order of
subscribers chosen to receive premiums.

If you are sending in a check do it quickly so that I will have it in time to
put you on the list to possibly receive a premium.
