So I'm back in the air, and last weekend I flew Corryong with
Kathryn, Jamie, Glen, Barnsy etc. The ground was still soaking wet from the
insane rain fall of late, But we still managed to have a Fun 3 days of flying
with great views of the water all over the valleys.
Three days in a row of great flying around the valleys of Corryong
with friends was a great way to spend the March long weekend!
We left Canberra on the Saturday morning at 08:30 for the 3.5 hr drive south.
And after setting up tents and grabbing some lunch we arrived at launch by
13:00.
With clouds forming over Mt Elliot none of us wasted anytime rigging and then
running off the beautiful big launch that Elliot has. Its 1800ft/agl, so you get
a few chances to find lift, and we all got to cloudbase without any trouble.
Base was about 6500ft/asl, nothing special for this area, but given the record
rain fall and serious flooding in the area less than week ago, I was stoked to
flying at all.
