»CTR tool for
generating local airspace file (web tool by Rick Maddy)
Starting with firmware v3.34 it is possible to load unlimited CTRs into the
6030 via the SD card. Airspace files can be generated on a PC from OpenAir files
using the Flytec airspace utility below. The airspace file is then copied onto
an SD card (formatted Fat or Fat16). With the SD card loaded into the 6030, the
instrument will search for the SD card for the 100 closest CTRs and load them
into the 6030 Airspace menu. As you fly from one location to another the 6030
will update the list of active CTRs from the SD card. The active CTRs are shown
on the map page and the usual alerts and distance to CTR are shown when flying
near CTRs. If you fly within the warning distance of a CTR the 6030 will give
notice in the Information Field. Pressing the
i key at anytime will bring up the info page which will show the CTR info
for the three closest CTRs. » OpenAir2faf

Instrument Firmware - Beta Important: This
is beta or pre-release firmware which may have bugs. Do not load
this firmware if you are not prepared to tolerate possible bugs or
functional issues. Prior to installing firmware you should download
any flights that you want to save, waypoint, routes and your
instrument settings into FlyChart. After installing new firmware it
is recommended that you reinitialize the instrument. If you
discover errors or bugs please report them here. 6030 v3.34 Unlimited CTRs with SD card installed
Variable thresholds for flight acceptance
Know bugs: No accoustic CTR alarm when SD card installed, and if you
reinitialize the 6030 CTR memory it does not load the 100 closest CTRs on next
start-up. In Steve Kroop's tests they eventually load Release Notes

Flytec has a new firmware version out (version 3.34) that makes
good use of the SD slot on the vario. You can now load airspace data on the SD
card and always have restricted airspace data available. Prior to this firmware
update you could only load a small area of airspace data. I now have the whole
US loaded on mine. Use my restricted airspace web site (http://www.maddyhome.com/ctr)
to grab all of the US sites for where you might fly this year. Then use Flytec's
tool to convert the data and load it on your vario.
