The Flytec Race and Rally
Wolfi
here.
Ben
here.
Konrad
here.
Jonny here
I can see that Jonny and Wolfgang have made it. Others too I assume (apparently
about fifteen). Zippy landed twenty three kilometers short. Ben and Konrad went
down before goal.
Andre Wolfe had three weaklink breaks and then decided not to fly on the fourth
tow.
I worked the launch line as the meet director for a while before saddling up and
taking off in the Falcon. By the time I got in the air the sea breeze had come
in (it wasn't in the forecast) and flying was basically shut down with little to
no lift keeping all the rigid wing pilots from getting up also.
There was a five kilometer radius turnpoint around Quest Air and goal at Lake
Wales airfield. We have not headed north yet, but light winds tomorrow indicate
that we probably will. Thanks to GrayBird Hang Gliding and Paragliding for access to the airfield
(although at $300 it is the first time we've had to pay for access to a public
(County) airfield).
