Video by Mitch Shipley, who is doing a landing clinic here for eight competition
pilots using his Elektra Tow.
Charlie attempts to rock up in his Moyes Matrix harness. He isn't able to get
his string to slide and thereby get his slider up to the top of its track. He
tried before the video starts and tried again in the video. You can look at his
mains and see that he is hanging at some points from the strings instead.
He is late getting his hands from his base tube to the downtubes, but he is
rocked down and basically forced onto the basetube. He has to make a big effort
to get his hands up on the downtubes and while he gets his hands up to his ears,
his ears are way low, so he is way low on the downtubes.
Still he is able to make a good flare in mellow conditions and get the glider
nose up high in spite of having his hands so low. He lands just fine.
