The Sunday before last some of us went up to Rhett's new place.
Tanner-Hiller airport in central Mass. It is a sleepy little place that sees
maybe one plane a day, two on the weekends. Bob the manager and his wife are
thrilled with all the new pilots coming out to fly. She is doing hotdogs and
burgers for a donation and Bob is taking pictures of anything that flies and
making camping areas.
Rhett and Lou the tandem pilot got it going on. There are none of those strange
club fees or runway fee or day pass or memberships. Just $20.oo gets you 2500 ft
behind one of the best, if not the best tug pilot in the world. Tandems are
$155.00 and Lou is a great instructor or tour guide. Here's a video I made of
the fun that day. I should have known to wear more clothing Rhett always puts me
in a good thermal.
