A big Texas reception for out of state folks coming to the Big
Spring Championship

Peter Kelley and a number of other pilots were in Midland-Odessa
picking up a pilot at the airport the other day. They were driving into the town
to get some lunch when they stopped a local to ask if he knew of a good place to
go for lunch. They got to talking about what they were doing (going to the hang
gliding competition in Big Spring, and that of course they were not from Texas).

The local gave them directions to a better place for lunch than the one that
they were thinking about and as they were about to leave, the local said wait a
minute. He went back to his car, came back over to the car full of pilots and
handed them a hundred dollar bill. He said, "Welcome to Texas, this is from all
of us."

That got pilots talking about how great Texans are and how helpful as they
related all the times hat they had been helped by Texans.
