At last, the shutters went back and St Andre looked its normal
self - beautiful clear air and blue skies, with little whispy high cloud,
lavender faintly purple on the hillside, crickets chirping in the garden.

They set a nice long task, 103km optimised distance. Take-off at 11.45 was a
little early perhaps, vultures and wind-dummies were surfing up and down the
ridge, struggling for climb, but within half an hour it was working, so by the
time everyone got off, there were 2m/s climbs to be had.
