From a recent flight I had, temperature at 600 meters minus 10
degrees Celsius, add wind and chill factor and I was flying in minus 29 degrees
Celsius. I began to realize how cold it was after approximately 45 minutes of
flying, the tips of my fingers where going numb and my forehead very cold. I
decided to land after approximately 55 minutes of flying, the last glide to a
landing at our local flying club where we are glider planes, hang gliders and
paragliders all together. I was lucky that some of the glider people working on some repairs had warmed up
the office, It took me a big mug of hot chocolate and it was ten minutes of
shaking before I started to talk normal. But what an experience, I even had some
thermals over bare black trees, not enough to stay there but enough to startle
