2013 Worlds, Forbes Flatlands
Many pilots are here getting ready for the Worlds. Just three
tugs, and with pilots hanging out talking to each other instead of getting in
the launch line towing got off to a late start, and then the line got very long.
We are towing at the airport as Bill's field is too rough due to the on going
drought. The shire council brought out a heavy duty roller (thanks to Steve
McCarthy and Vicki) to push down the grass stubble, so maybe it will be ready
tomorrow. We'd hate to knock pilots out of the carts or parts off the tugs. A few pilots aren't quite as proficient as they should be, with inadequate
aerotowing skills and experience. We'd rather not kill anyone during this
competition, but some pilots appear ready to challenge us on that. Steve Blenkinsop, Christian Voiblet, Francoise Dieuzeide made goal at
Wellington, about 150 km to the northeast.
