With a west wind we were primed to not fly. The forecast was for
14 mph winds on the surface, but the actual winds were quite light and a test
flight showed the launch conditions were mild. The mentors decided that they
didn't want to fly thinking that landing conditions would be difficult at Quest

A follow up on my previous incident report.
The pilot was spotted by the launch crew in the south end of the field at Quest
Air approaching above the trees for the bomb out zone just to the east of the
launch zone. Then they lost track of him.

The wind from the east was pretty consistent all day, 8 mph
gusting to 14. The forecast was for cu's, strong lift and a high cloud base. The
forecast was again overly optimistic. It also forecast the wind turning south
